Nanshan
Nanshan Northwest
Nanshan Northwest borders on a rural area. It is largely comprised of orchards, and is a source of Shenzhen’s famous litchis. The Xili Lake resort complex and Shenzhen Polytechnic are also here.
Nanshan Northeast
Nanshan Northeast is largely mountainous, with a few small developed areas, including the campuses at University Town.
Nanshan Central
Nanshan Central was a government center in the Ming Dynasty (as seen in Xin’an Ancient Village), and remains a vibrant part of Shenzhen today.
Nanshan East
Nanshan East is a major tourist draw, with Shenzhen’s “Big Three” theme parks (Happy Valley, Windows of the World, and Splendid China/Folk Cultural Villages), and the swanky OCT (Overseas Chinese Town).
Nanshan South
There’s more to the peninsula of Nanshan South than the popular Shekou “expat ghetto.” Large natural areas (Evergreen Resort, Nanshan Mountain) and ancient history (Chiwan) are also a great way to spend a day.
