Fuhua Xincun
BACFTC BAC1
Number 21 on the Futian Central Map.
Fuhua Xincun is bounded by Fuhua Lu on the north, Huanggang Lu on the east, a cluster of buildings including Huangzhou Huayuan near Binhe Lu on the south, and an unnamed street on the west (running just east of Caitian Lu).
The village is highly permeable, with many gates on every side (and virtually no fence on the south). Main gates vehicle are on the west (on the small street that runs east of Caitian Lu) and north (Fuhua Lu).
It is very conveniently located: 5 minutes from Gangxia Metro Station, near several major roads (lots of buses), and just 15-20 minutes on foot to either Huaqiang Bei or the Central Business District. Zhongxin (Central) Park is just across Huanggang Lu.
The village is comprised of older buildings in the typical "xincun" ("new village") style; buildings are eight stories with no elevators. The neighbors are mainly families (from grrandparents to infants) and a few young professionals, as well as some workers attracted by the low rents.

There are a few shops and a "wet market" in the center of the village (but there arep[lenty of stores around the village). There's a public pool, a basketball court, and a few exercise areas. Parking is mostly on the street, with a couple of assigned parking areas for the lucky few.
There is ample open space between the buildings, with plenty of trees and some small pavilions. Lots of birds hang out there! the security guards are friendly and ubiquitous, and the buildings are generally well-maintained.
Few foreigners live in Fuhua Xincun. There are few or no English-speaking staff.
It seems that all units are privately owned. My large, partially-furnished, two-bedroom apartment (in need of a paint job and a few fixes) is under 2000rmb/month.
