Diwang Building

Diwang Dasha at Night

"Diwang" means "Earth King," and certainly this landmark tower of 384 meters (or so) reigns over the surrounding landscape. (Check it out in this night shot by Jesse Warren -- it's the big one in the center.)

On the lower floors and in the attached Shun Hing Square you'll find shopping, dining, bars, and cafes.

See some more amazing pictures of the building at Xiha Life.

Meridian View Center

There's also the Meridian View Center, called the "Skydeck," an observation deck on the 69th floor that features 15 entertainment centers and displays.

On a clear day you can see Hong Kong and the sea to the south, as well as the mountains to the north. Best bet is to go near sunset, so you can get both day and night views.

Even on hazy days the view can be interesting. Take a look at Jesse Warren's album.

Let's hear what the website has to say:

It only takes 50 seconds to reach the 69th floor on the top of Diwang Comm. Ctr. by elevator with melodious music surrounding you. Cool multi-dimensional dynamic movie, documentaries by digital slides and 15 amusing sights are waiting. Standing at the height of 384 meters and having a 360° view of the city, you’ll find the wandering Shenzhen River extending like a huge flying dragon, or a green ribbon connecting Shenzhen and Hong Kong, making the city in the garden-Shenzhen shining with the fancy sights of Oriental Pearl on the Hong Kong side. Come on, dear friends! Standing on the top of Shenzhen, 25 years of passionate innovation will flash like a film before your eyes. With the interplay and integration of time and space, a fairy-tale city is presented before you. My dear friend, welcome to Shenzhen Meridian View Centre Co., Ltd!
